I’m Roy, the person behind The Wandering Lens. I enjoy getting out with my camera and sharing the places I discover around Yorkshire and beyond.
Why I keep exploring
There’s always something to see, whether it’s a walk along the coast, a quiet village or a view across the North York Moors. Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby are places I enjoy returning to, because every visit feels a little different.
Sharing the journey
I enjoy making films, taking photographs and sharing live streams on Facebook. Sometimes it’s a planned trip. Sometimes it’s just a moment that makes me stop and take a closer look. That’s what The Wandering Lens is about: sharing those places and moments as I find them.
Keeping the kit simple
I film with my phone and use a gimbal, microphone and tripod when I need them. I’m always learning and trying things out, one film at a time.
